How to Fix Unexpected Language Translation on the WeGive Dashboard

If the WeGive dashboard suddenly appears in a different language — for example, navigation menus and button labels are in Spanish, French, or another language — your browser’s built-in auto-translate feature has likely activated. The WeGive dashboard is English-only. It does not have a language-switching feature or multilingual support. When the dashboard appears in another language, it is because your web browser is automatically translating the page.

Why this happens

Most modern browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox) include an auto-translate feature. If your browser’s preferred language is set to something other than English, the browser may automatically translate the dashboard text. You might notice that donor names, notes, and other data you entered still appear in their original language while the rest of the interface has changed — that’s a telltale sign of browser auto-translation at work.

How to restore the dashboard to English

Google Chrome

  1. Right-click anywhere on the page
  2. Select “Translate to English” or “Show Original” (the option varies depending on whether translation is currently active)
  3. To prevent it from happening again: click the translate icon in the address bar, then click the three dots menu and select “Never translate this site”

Microsoft Edge

  1. Click the translate icon in the address bar
  2. Select “Show Original”
  3. To prevent it: click the translate icon, select “Never translate this site”

Safari

  1. Click the Aa icon in the address bar
  2. Select “View Original”

Firefox

  1. Click the translate icon in the address bar
  2. Select “Show Original”

All browsers — permanent fix

To prevent auto-translation across all sites, you can change your browser’s language settings:
  1. Open your browser’s Settings
  2. Navigate to Languages
  3. Disable “Offer to translate pages that aren’t in a language you read” (or the equivalent option for your browser)

If the problem persists

Try logging out of the WeGive dashboard and logging back in. This clears any cached translated page state. If the issue continues after following these steps, contact WeGive support.
