Overview

A common reporting need is “all the payments that succeeded last month” — a recurring report that always covers whichever month just ended, without you having to update a date range by hand each time. WeGive’s Payments table supports this directly through an Advanced Filter.

Step 1: Open the Payments table

Navigate to Payments in your dashboard.

Step 2: Add the Succeeded At advanced filter

Open Advanced Filters and add a filter on Succeeded At. Choose the previous month comparator. This is a relative filter — it isn’t tied to a fixed date range. Whenever this filter is applied (including each time a scheduled export using it runs), it automatically re-evaluates to “whichever month just ended,” so you never need to edit the filter’s dates yourself. You can combine this with other filters — for example, Status is Success — to make sure the report only includes successfully completed payments.

Step 3: Turn it into a recurring report

Once your filters look right, use More → Schedule export (see Creating Scheduled Exports) to turn this view into a recurring report. Set the Frequency to Monthly so the report lands in your inbox right after each month closes, always covering the month that just ended.

Why this works without manual updates

A scheduled export is built from a table’s current filter view — it doesn’t store a fixed date range, it stores the filter itself. Because previous month is a relative comparator, the report recalculates “last month” fresh every time it runs, so a report set up once keeps working correctly indefinitely.

Tips

  • Pair “previous month” with a Monthly schedule — that’s the combination that produces a true “last calendar month” report every time.
  • If you’re migrating a recurring report from another platform that used a relative “last month” or similar comparator, this Advanced Filter is the direct equivalent in WeGive.
