If your organization has Double the Donation (branded “360MatchPRO”) connected, WeGive automatically submits every successful donation for corporate gift matching and gives donors a way to find out if their employer will match. This article covers what the donor actually sees and how match status gets tracked.What happens at checkout
After a donation completes, the donor’s receipt includes a link to a dedicated matching-gift page. On that page, the donor can search for their employer to see whether a match is available and get a direct link to their employer’s matching-gift form — all handled through Double the Donation’s own widget, so the donor is searching the same employer database Double the Donation maintains. Every donation submitted this way carries a unique identifier that ties the donor’s activity on the matching-gift page back to that specific gift, so status updates land on the right donation.What happens behind the scenes
Every successful donation is automatically registered with Double the Donation — there’s nothing the donor has to opt into for this to happen. WeGive then periodically checks back with Double the Donation for status updates on registered donations, so your dashboard and CRM stay current as a match moves through its stages: employer identified, matching-gift form submitted, and match verified. Recurring donations are registered the same way as one-time gifts, and are flagged as recurring so Double the Donation’s reporting can distinguish them.What donors see if there’s no match available
If a donor’s employer isn’t found in Double the Donation’s database, or the organization hasn’t connected Double the Donation, the donor simply doesn’t see a matching opportunity — there’s no error state, the donation itself is unaffected either way.Setting this up
