# Gift Designation

> Field mapping between WeGive funds and Salesforce GiftDesignation records

WeGive funds sync to NPC `GiftDesignation`, the native designation object for the Nonprofit Cloud gift model.

## Core fields

`gl_code` and `external_id` have no default NPC field; map them under **Mapping Rules** if your org tracks them on `GiftDesignation`.

## Where designations are referenced

When WeGive pushes a transaction or plan whose fund has not yet been synced, it pushes the `GiftDesignation` first so the reference resolves. Funds deleted in WeGive are never pushed as designations.
